CONCEPTS

Technology is the air our children breathe. Our projects offer lessons in building micro computers, remote controlled devices and simple machines. We build a basic foundation in simple programing with those same micro computers. All children will be exposed to various levels of technology.
Our trips focus on exposure to different industries and career fields. We visit the Aviation Museum, The Transit Museum and many more.
Technology
Learning the foundations of materials and how they are used together is part of our daily curriculum. In making the projects, children learn which tools are used with what materials work best. We use mosttly recycled materials.
Children will learn the relationship between forces and and objects. How fast can it go? How much weight can it take? And will that be fun? These questions and more will be answered. Making forts with household items and using the sun to power a project are examples.
Engineering
Creative Art involves using our hands to ceate what comes to mind out of raw materials. The lessons start with hammers and string and end with ceramics and kiln firing their projects.
The tools they learn to use can be used for a lifetime. Creativity is natural and is encouraged in this program. Art and technology go side by side so exposure to technical art is part of our projects and trips. Silk Screening and website making are good examples of the fusion between Art and tech.

ABOUT
Our family has worked in the field of Childhood Education for 18 years. Our site in Bayside offers and safe and welcoming environment. Your children become part of our extended family.
From WaterWorx to Tynker Time our projects and daily schedule teach the basics of using tools and materials. We build our toys as we go and learn to use the resources we are given. It develops their creatvity and we design while learning how to build. What breaks can be fixed. Each age will take away their own lessons. Our community learns and teaches each other as we build and play. Some are just learning to use the tools and others are working on the controllers and circuits. The team finishes the project but the individual takes away the lessons.

Concepts and Curriculum
Tynker Time - Tinkering is vital to feeding our childrens curiosity. They learn through building with their hands and using tools to create objects. Projects range from using PVC pipe to build forts to recycling a used soda bottle to make a stomp rocket. The projects keep childrens imagination and circulation going. The groups offer encouragment and engament.
Idea Lab -
Inspiration and communication are the beginning of invention and design.
From finding items to inspire imagination to learning what restricts our designs. On paper or on our chalkboard walls we brainstorm. The group then can help develop anything. Idea Lab is used to reinforce concepts and bind their curriculum with our projects.
Water WorX -
Water Worx involves using projects that teach principles of building with pipes, pumps, containment and just plain fun. Children learn plumbing while cooling off on the summer hot days. We have a safe and secure playground that becomes the Water Worx lab. As the temperature
rises so does our imagation.
Self Serve stations-
We give them the knowledge and then let the their ablities roam free. Project stations allow freedom for exploration of different building items. Join an idea group or project group or work on your own. During invividual creative time children are encouraged to work and learn with different materials, tools, and techniques.
Sports Worx- Designing new games and organized sports are always a part of active time. We all enjoy kickball but lets try kick ball with a ball half filled with water. 100's of games can be made with Pool noodles. Experimentation and peer encouragment are the lesson. Physics and imagination work well together. In our 5000 Sq Foot timber frame gym we have plenty of room to play and strectch our imaginations.
